SPIN IT! is the Record Ranking Podcast for people who would rather listen to music. We're giving our unprofessional opinions on every album and artist under the sun!

Each week James and Connor give their spin on a popular album. James has listened to each one dozens of times, but Connor's only heard them once. We'll discuss, deliberate, and score each record, with trivia and tomfoolery along the way. WHY WE DO IT

SPIN IT! is a podcast built around sharing #MusicWorthTalkingAbout.

Ever since 2017, James has been making an effort to listen to several new albums every month. One day, while procrastinating an assignment for school (don't worry, it's done now) James decided to try and rank every album he'd ever listened to. There was no real "scoring" or anything, it was mostly based on his intuition in the moment. Soon enough, he wound up with a flawless, comprehensive list!

Or so he thought.

A few months later James revisited the list and decided it was all wrong. In an attempt to make things more empirical, he added four weighted numerical categories that would help him properly score each record: Music, Lyrics, Instruments/Production, and Vibe. He was much more satisfied with this list, and constantly added to it with each passing month.

In late 2020, Connor decided something must be done with all these rankings. "You're already doing 90% of the work for a podcast," he said. "Why not just go ahead and make one?"

And make one they did. Half a year later, SPIN IT! was born. 

Their hope for the show is that you'll learn something new about your favorite music, discover new music you didn't know you'd love, or at least occasionally chuckle at two dudes telling stupid jokes!
